Amidst the trials and tribulations that plague us, we, the heroic educators of the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ), refuse to be silenced any longer.
Today, we raise our voices in a resonant chorus, demanding nothing less than a fair wage of USD$1260 that reflects the true value of our unwavering dedication and tireless efforts.
The harsh realities we confront on a daily basis are stark and undeniable. We grapple with financial hardships that hinder our ability to provide for our families, rendering us unable to afford even the most basic necessities or pay for our own children’s education.
The weight of insurmountable debt bears down upon our shoulders, the list of challenges seems unending, but amidst it all, we recognize that the alternative lies within ourselves.
With a solid willpower, we call upon our fellow comrades, our brothers and sisters in this struggle, to stand shoulder to shoulder with us. It is only through collective action and unity that we can bring about the change we so desperately need.
Today, we must rise together and fight for our rights, for if we fail to seize this moment, we condemn ourselves to perpetual suffering and injustice. Our demands extend beyond a fair and living wage.
We also demand the provision of rural allowances that acknowledge the unique hurdles we face in our environments. We refuse to accept the status quo any longer.
Our fight is fueled not only by our own circumstances, but by the burning desire to pave a brighter path for our children—a future where they can thrive and flourish without the burdens we bear.
As ARTUZ, we march forward with indomitable spirit, our voices echoing through the halls of power, shaking the foundations of oppression. The time for change is now, and we will not waver in our chase of justice and dignity.
